"Departures" is an electro ambient album about new beginnings, the necessity of moving on, and yet it contains references to the past, (i.e. "dark gallop two", or "green canopy", recalling two tracks featured in my debut ambient work).
It relies on the tried formula "soundscapes + synthetic drums" the latter weaving suspended yet energizing rhythms, but I occasionally experimented with more dancefloor-ish patterns. The album also features field recordings, vocal parts, shoegaze-style guitars. The opener, "San Rossore", refers to both a beautiful natural park in Pisa, and my favorite train station.
